Volunteer Event - I-376 Litter Clean-up

Litter Cleanup At I-376 Schedule For 2024

The RSCA is planning to continue regular litter clean-ups this year.  Spring, summer and fall cleanups are planned for Sundays on April 7th, July 7th, and November 3rd at 8:30 AM.  These dates are the Sundays after Easter, the Fourth of July and Halloween respectively.

Typically quite a bit of trash has built-up over the winter.  It’s not practical to schedule a winter event do keep it under control because of snow and cold.    As usual Spring provide a ‘record harvest’ of unsightly detritus cluttering the gateway to the community.

You can help keep this key gateway (I-376 intersection and South Braddock) clean!   It’s easy to spend an hour or so with a remote ‘gripper’ harvesting this collection of debris.   The RSCA and PennDOT provide bags, remote grippers, orange safety vests and gloves to help.   All that you need bring is a bit of time and determination to make things look a bit better.

Consider participating in one of the clean-ups.   Volunteers meet at the brick street adjacent 1400 S. Braddock Avenue. Pickup usually starts at 8:30AM and last until around 10:30-11:00 AM.   Some participants spend an hour while many spend more.   It’s a great way get exercise and do something that improves the community.

If you’re interested in participating, contact the RSCA at contact@rsca.online to get more information or call the Trash Pickup coordinator, Jon Danzak, at 412.241.2345.
