Business District Tree Maintenance
For this Earth Day event the RSCA Garden Committee will be weeding and mulching 26 tree and planter pits on both sides of Braddock Avenue in the 1000 and 1100 blocks. The event is planned to be from 5-7 PM.
If you’d like to support this work, help at the cleanup event, sponsor a tree, or work on the Garden Committee, contact Perry Recker at perreck48@gmail.com.
Plan to bring gardening gloves to protect your hands. Meet in front of Frick Park Tavern.
The RSCA is working to schedule tree and planter maintenance in the S. Braddock and S. Trenton business districts. This coincides with the RSCA ‘tree sponsorship’ program where you can donate to support the ongoing tree and planter maintenance as well as provide holiday lighting. Check the RSCA calendar for additional maintenance events which will typically be scheduled for Sunday afternoons several weeks apart.

Regent Square Yard Sale
In early 2000, a Regent Square resident, Lynn Vroblick, came to the RSCA with a proposal to start a community yard sale. Lynn had seen this done in other communities and thought that it would be a great idea for Regent Square. The RSCA Board of Directors agreed and helped kick start the first neighborhood yard sale. Two decades later, the sale is still continuing. The RSCA provides a coordinator, publicity and helps neighbors connect. It’s a great example of how the RSCA can help good ideas take hold and make Regent Square a special place with a neighborhood feeling.
A fantastic opportunity to find bargains in the Regent Square neighborhood for visitors and a great way for Regent Square residents to do a spring clean-up and sell things that they no longer need. Great neighborhood please to eat and shop, too!
Registration is at the yard sale registration page. Registration deadline is 9-May-2026.
Don't miss this wonderful community event.
Tree Maintenance
If you’d like to help keep the Business District beautiful, this is a great way to spend a short hour or two tidying up the tree areas as well as helping to keep them healthy. Bring your tough gardening gloves and a small trowel if you have it and meet in front of Frick Park Tavern. Clean-up usually goes pretty quickly because of the mulching and care that is now happening with these areas. A few hands and a bit of time will make a BIG difference in the community!
If you’d like come, need more information or are interested in the Garden Committee, contact Perry Recker at perigraphica@yahoo.com.
